The Russian Verb Drills course is designed to help you understand the Russian verb conjugation system, memorize different verb forms and their correct pronunciations and, most importantly, gain speed when it comes to speaking Russian with the help of unique Russian verb conjugation AUDIO DRILLS.
By the end of the course, you will have understood how Russian verb forms are made, memorized them with the correct consonant mutations and gained speed when it comes to remembering them, so that speaking Russian becomes less stressful and much more pleasant. You will be able to finally get rid of those awkward pauses while you try to remember the correct verb form when speaking Russian.
No other tool has proven as useful to my students in mastering Russian verb conjugation as these audio drills!
What makes Russian verb conjugations so frustrating is that the stem may undergo various changes, usually involving the final consonant. This is called consonant “mutation” or “alternation”.
So, how do you know that “писáть” becomes “пишу́” and not “писáю”? That “давáть” becomes “даю́” instead of “давáю”? Why “ви́деть” turns into “ви́жу” instead of “ви́дю”?
None of it makes any sense, does it? Actually, it does!
Before you get to the audio drills, the Russian Verb Drills course will explain in great detail how the Russian conjugation system works and all about consonant mutations, and when and why they happen.
This is where the concept of “model verbs” comes in handy…
You see, there is more to Russian than just the 1st and 2nd conjugations. Almost all Russian verbs can be grouped into 15 groups. Some of them belong to the 1st conjugation pattern and others, to the 2nd.
Each group has a few model verbs, and all the verbs inside those groups conjugate exactly the same as the model verbs of their respective groups. So, if you learn to conjugate those model verbs, you´ll be able to apply the same conjugation patterns in order to conjugate all Russian verbs from those groups.
That´s why, inside the Russian Verb Drills course, you´ll be orally drilling on model verbs and their conjugation forms until you can remember the right verb forms automatically, without even thinking. Then, it´s really easy to apply the same pattern to other verbs from the same conjugation group!
Using audio drills is the best method to study verb conjugations and verb stem mutations!
7 VIDEO LESSONS
I´ll explain in great detail how Russian verbs conjugate in all tenses. You´ll finally learn every single conjugation pattern and stem mutation that exists in the Russian language.
Each model verb is conjugated into all tenses. Altogether, you’ll have 90 short, 7-minute audio drills that are very easy to squeeze into your busy schedule.
OF DOWNLOADABLE AUDIO
Do you like to study on the go while driving a car or jogging? No problem! Download the audio for all drills, upload it to your mobile phone and you’re all set!
The course comes with many supplementary cheat sheets—a 100-page transcript, conjugation tables for all model verbs, lists of verbs for each conjugation group, and templates.
In total, there are 40 conjugation patterns in the Russian language, each with its own unique set of conjugation steps that must be applied in a particular order. They are not difficult by themselves. The main difficulty is being able to quickly remember the right conjugation steps for any given verb while you’re actually speaking Russian. It´s exhausting to keep all the steps for 40 conjugation patterns in your head!
So, the workaround I invented for my students is to completely automate the process of applying these conjugation patterns to Russian verbs, with the help of audio verb drills.
After going through the drills, you’ll have all these conjugation patterns on autopilot for the model verbs. You’ll start remembering the right verb forms quickly, without thinking and without having to pause to remember the right conjugation steps. When you automate this process for model verbs, it´s just a matter of applying the same patterns to all other Russian verbs!
I think the audio drill system is very powerful and useful. It has helped me remember the correct forms much more rapidly and say them better than I ever have before. It was really worth the money!

I’m about half-way through the course. I “knew” all the verb forms before I got started but I couldn’t just pull them out of the air automatically and my pronunciation was truly awful. I’m being disciplined about doing each verb completely and repeating tenses I stumble on., so it’s taking me a while, but the time and the effort are absolutely worth it. I love it when I’m distracted doing a verb form but the right word comes out anyway. That means it’s working!

Almost all Russian verbs can be grouped into one of 15 groups based on which conjugation pattern they follow. All verbs inside the same group follow the same conjugation steps. Once you learn how to conjugate one (model) verb of that group, you will be able to easily conjugate ALL verbs in that group.
A regular textbook teaches you verb conjugations in order, from я to они. For example: я делаю, ты делаешь, он делает, etc. At the end, you learn the list as a whole by rote! And when you speak and need to remember the verb form for мы or они, you have to go through the whole list.
This course offers a totally different approach, as you´ll be learning verb conjugations out of order. Each drill includes the quiz part where I say a pronoun at random, pause briefly to give you a few seconds to respond, and then I say the appropriate verb conjugation, and you repeat the whole phrase after me.
Your very own deck of audio flashcards!
Instead of relying on rote memorization, Russian Verb Drills will help you acquire a reflex in picking the correct verb forms. Through effective out of order repetition exercises, you will learn to choose the correct verb forms naturally.
Kristina’s Russian Verb Drills course is highly effective. There is a lot of material out there on the internet, but this course really helped me. I’m the type of learner that really benefits from listening to varied and repeated audio – it helps me memorize and the new words become second nature. Listening to a native speaker is great because you can hear and repeat the correct pronunciation of the verbs right away, and avoid memorizing incorrectly. The charts and supplemental materials also help me understand and absorb all the new verb forms to see it laid out clearly.

This course provided rigorously precise and complete drill material for my ears alone, eyes alone, or ears and eyes together, and structured it modularly, so that I can proceed on as much material as I want to or can learn at any one time, and since there is no closure, I can re-attack or review the material further any time hereafter. The printouts and recordings are of the highest quality.

While the idea of verb drills is not new, it’s not common to see audio drills.
There are many excellent books offering exercises on verb drills, but these are writing exercises! They do help you to drill on verb forms and to remember the right endings, but they are not that useful in helping you with pronunciation and, the most important aspect when it comes to speaking, the speed in remembering and saying them.
With the help of audio drills, you´ll be learning the conjugation of verbs with their correct pronunciation and gaining the speed in remembering and saying them, all at the same time.
Effective repetition exercises will help you to develop an instinct for choosing the correct verb form, and you´ll be learning Russian verbs and practicing tenses without memorizing anything.
I’m very glad I jumped into your course. It is very well structured and fits my way of organizing my studying. The drills push me to speak and listen. I’ve recorded some of the drills and found mispronounced words I didn’t realize were wrong. The duration of each drill set is good. I do think the drills have helped to reinforce the differences in the verb forms. Thank you for your help.

The Russian Verb Drills is an outstanding tool! It helped me notice the pattern in Russian Verbs declination, and the format, audio coupled with pdf print out, helped to remember the materials better.
Gerald Badet, USA
The course really helped to be able to produce the various verb forms automatically. It was easy to use. I am able to periodically go back and review the more troublesome verbs as need arises. The verbs chosen in the course seem to be the most frequently used verbs which I need for reading, listening, writing and speaking.
Suzanne Zakis, Canada
I am an advanced intermediate Russian learner. I thought the drills would be too basic but I have found them to be INVALUABLE. They have helped enormously, with not only fluency but, in clarifying subtle pronunciation and conjugation confusion ie “а” and “я” 3rd person plural 2nd Type verbs. Thank you Kristina!

Did I mention that I´m a native Russian speaker? ; )
I used to teach Russian as a private tutor, helping hundreds of students every year improve every aspect of their Russian. That was until I realized that I could be helping THOUSANDS of students at the same time with online courses. Since then I´ve been obsessed with teaching Russian online!
One of my favorite things about teaching Russian verbs is hearing from students who´ve completed the course. How now they have clarity about Russian verbs and their conjugations and understand how the Russian verb system works, how it takes them seconds to remember the right verb forms and endings, how they love their clear and correct pronunciation, and in general, enjoy speaking Russian much more.
Remember, you can achieve all this too. The question is: will you?

Yes, totally! Start whenever you want and go at your own pace whenever you have free time.
At the beginning, you will need about 2,5 hours to watch all the video lessons with my explanations. The second part of the course includes 90 short, 7-minute audio drills, so it´s really easy to squeeze them into your busy schedule. You can upload them to your mobile phone and study anytime and anywhere, even if you have just 10 free minutes here and there.
You bet! Enroll in Russian Verb Drills now and receive lifetime access to all course materials. You can start whenever you want.
Yes, absolutely! The course covers everything you need to know about the Russian verb conjugation system. No prior knowledge of Russian verbs and their conjugation is required to start this course.
If you´re serious about learning Russian, this is one of the best investments you can make, because if you really get from the very beginning how the Russian verb system works, you will avoid a lot of frustration in the future! Most Russian learners lose their motivation when they dive deeper into learning Russian verbs because they realize how confusing this topic can be.
However, I lay everything out in a simple, easy-to-follow fashion. I eliminate all the overwhelming concepts, all the scattered information and all the confusion. Not only will you have an easy step-by-step path to a clear understanding of how Russian verbs conjugate in all tenses, you’ll also stay motivated to keep learning Russian when you see how easily you´ve mastered one of the most complicated aspects of the Russian language.
Yes, totally! If you´ve already reached an intermediate level but still struggle with Russian verbs, it means you have a lot of scattered knowledge that you can´t piece together when you´re actually speaking Russian. What you need right now is to systematise all you already know about Russian verbs and their conjugation, fill in the missing gaps (conjugation patterns you haven´t learned yet), and finally, gain speed when it comes to speaking Russian. The Russian Verb Drills course helps you achieve all three!
It depends! If you´re actually advanced, you should already know most of the conjugation patterns covered. In that case, you probably won´t learn much from the course.
However, if the real issue you´re struggling with is quickly remembering the right verb form (even if you know the conjugation rules by heart!) when it comes to regular conversation, you’ll benefit a lot from the second part of the course, which includes 90 verb drills for model verbs.
If you´re advanced and not sure whether you really need this course, feel free to send me an email at email@example.com. Describe your main struggles with Russian verbs and I’ll help you understand if this course is a good fit for you.
Yes, totally! All of the audio drills are downloadable and all of the transcripts and workbooks are printable.
How does lifetime access sound!? After purchasing the course, you’ll always have access to the content, as well as any future updates that are made to the material. Therefore, you can complete this course entirely at your own pace, and re-visit the content whenever you need to.
The course is delivered online. All course materials (video lessons, audio drills, and printable cheats sheets in pdf) are hosted on a course platform that you will have access to as soon as you enroll.
I don´t think so!
There are certainly many Russian grammar books out there that talk about Russian verb conjugation. However, very few cover every single conjugation pattern that exists in the Russian language (most cover just a few common patterns) and none of them lays out the information in a simple, easy-to-follow fashion. This course is the most complete, step-by-step resource on the market when it comes to learning Russian verbs and their conjugations.
Also, the unique system of Russian audio drills is not well known among other Russian teachers so it will be very difficult to find drills like these anywhere else online. I created them myself and have been testing them for the last couple of years with my private students. They found the audio drills to be an extremely helpful tool to master verbs without cramming!
